Yogit S wins Warrior Chess Academy Rating Open 2025
Yogit S and Surendran N scored 8/9 each at Warrior Chess Academy Rating Open 2025. Yogit won the tournament due to better tie-break scores, Surendran was placed second. Seven players scored 7.5/9 each. Out of them, Vijay Shreeram P was adjudged third. The total prize fund was ₹400001. The top three prizes were ₹40001, ₹30000 and ₹20000 along with a trophy each. The five-day nine round Rating tournament was organized by Warrior Chess Academy and Capa Chess Academy at LBEAAR Matric Higher Secondary School in Chennai, Tamil Nadu from 27th to 31st May 2025. Yogit's first rating tournament triumph of the year
Naveen K S and Surendran N were coleaders 7.5/8, heading into the final round. Yogit S defeated Naveen to become the champion. Surendran drew with Vijay Shreeram P and they secured second and third place respectively.
A total of 531 players including an IM took part from various parts of the country and two from the USA. The five-day nine round Rating tournament was organized by Warrior Chess Academy and Capa Chess Academy at LBEAAR Matriculation High School in Chennai, Tamil Nadu from 27th to 31st May 2025. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move.
