Webster University and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley are cochampions at President's Cup 2025
Webster University and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley were announced as cochampions of President's Cup 2025. Both teams scored 7/12 each. Their head-to-head opening round battle ended in a 2-2 draw. According to the rules, Webster got the trophy as they had better tie-break scores. Saint Louis University scored 6/12 to finish third and The University of Texas at Dallas finish fourth scoring 4/12. GM Harsha Bharathakoti contributed 1/3 for Webster University. GM Yasser Quesada Perez is the top scorer 2.5/3 for his team. GM Jose Gabriel Cardososo Cardoso is the highest scorer 2.5/3, for his team UTRGV. Harsha Bharathakoti's team wins the National Championship for the seventh time
Webster University won the National University for the seventh time. Previously, Webster won this event in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2023. The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley won it for the fourth time after winning it for three consecutive years in 2018, 2019 and 2021. There was no championship in 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic.

A total of 19 players including 14 GMs and 5 IMs represented four qualified teams all across the USA. The two-day three round Swiss League team tournament was held at University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, Texas, USA on 5th and 6th April 2025. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move.
