Jwalin Mehta clinches Akshayakalpa Organic 3rd Hyderabad Chess Centre Rapid Open with a perfect 6/6

Jwalin Mehta scored a perfect 6/6 to win Akshayakalpa Organic 3rd Hyderabad Chess Centre Rapid Open 2023. He finished a half point ahead of the competition. Four players - Childvilash Sai Surapaneni, Dhruva Thota, FM Ramu K and Nidhish Shyamal scored an unbeaten 5.5/6 each. They secured second to fifth place respectively. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹60000. The top three prizes were ₹8000, ₹6000 and ₹4000 along with a trophy each. Jwalin, Md. Imran and Hriday Bhuta were at 5/5 each heading into the final round. Jwalin defeated the top seed Imran to become a clear champion. 232 players take part

Akshayakalpa Organic 3rd HCC Rapid Chess Tournament conducted at Olivemount Global School, Attapur, Hyderabad, event attracted 232 Players out of which 86 international FIDE Rated players including FIDE Masters - Md. Imran, Kandi Ramu, Rishpal Singh, Former National Under-17 Girls champion - Sarayu Velpula (Classical Fide Rating 2444) along with other top seeded players from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and other states. Total Prize fund of the event was ₹60000.

Although on the same day, there were two more tournaments simultaneously taking place in Hyderabad, still HCC has done fairly by attracting 234 entries and closing the entries two days ahead of the tournament. In total, more than 600 players took part in Hyderabad in three tournaments on 22nd October.

 

Akshayakalpa Organic which is already a big name in the Bangalore chess circles has entered with a bang in Hyderabad. The icing on the cake was Shashi Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO of Akshayakalpa, himself playing the tournament and was available from the morning to encourage the chess players.
