8th Sharjah Masters R3: Visakh draws with Indjic, stays in the lead

GM Visakh N R drew with GM Aleksandar Indjic (SRB) in Round 3 to maintain his lead at 8th Sharjah Masters 2025. GM Visakh N R is the only Indian at 2/2. GM Pranav Anand went wrong in the double rook and knight endgame against GM Anish Giri (NED). Anish also moved to 2.5/3. GM Aditya Mittal seized his opportunity against GM Gabriel Sargissian (ARM). GM Bharath Subramaniyam H saved a half point in a tough queen vs double rook endgame against GM Samuel Sevian (USA). IM S Rohith Krishna outplayed GM Sethuraman S P. GM Pranav Anand (2555) needed to decide on how he would defend the f6-pawn. 26...Rh5 is the best way to do so. Instead, he played 26...Ne7? 27.Rf3 fxg5 28.Rxg5 g6 29.Rf7 Kd7? 30.Rxg6 things fell apart in a hurry and GM Anish Giri (NED, 2738) won the game eventually.

GM Gabriel Sargissian (ARM, 2641) made a mistake 32...Reb8? GM Aditya Mittal (2547) seized his opportunity 33.h4 h5 34.Qc2 Rxd4 35.Qc7 Qxc7 36.Rcxc7 gained his opponent's bishop in the next few moves and won the game.
