88th Tata Steel 2026 R11: Sindarov beats Arjun to join the lead with Abdusattorov

The FIDE World Cup 2025 winner, Javokhir Sindarov (UZB) defeated World no.5, Arjun Erigaisi to join the lead at the conclusion of Round 11 at 88th Tata Steel Masters 2026. Sindarov is now coleader of his compatriot, Nodirbek Abdusattorov (UZB) who drew his game against Jorden van Foreest (NED). R Praggnanandhaa suffered his third loss of the event, this time against Vincent Keymer (GER). The World Champion, D Gukesh drew against Aravindh Chithambaram. Hans Niemann (USA) won a thrilling game against Thai Dai Van Nguyen (CZE) to move to 6.5/11, a half point behind Sindarov and Abdusattorov. Challengers: Andy Woodward back in sole lead, Vedant draws against Ivic

GM Andy Woodward (USA) made a short work of another pursuer, GM Marc` Andria Maurizzi (FRA) to regain his sole lead 8.5/11. Woodward made a short work of his opponent in just 22 moves. The round sole leader, GM Aydin Suleymanli (AZE) lost to the legend, GM Vasyl Ivanchuk (UKR) who joined the former in the chase at 8/11. FM Vedant Panesar drew against the highest rated player in the Challengers event - GM Velimir Ivic (SRB).

Jorden - Abdusattorov: 0.5-0.5

Jorden van Foreest (NED, 2703) and Nodirbek Abdusattorov (UZB, 2751) have played four Classical rated games against each other. Three of them were at the same event, Tata Steel Masters. Jorden won one and the remaining three were won by Abdusattorov. This was their first draw in a Classical battle.

Arjun - Sindarov: 0-1

Arjun Erigaisi (2775) and Javokhir Sindarov (UZB, 2726) have played five Classical rated games against each other. Arjun won one and the remaining four ended in draws. In this game, Arjun went wrong in the queen, rook and knight endgame and things went out of hand. This win made Sindarov a coleader with his compatriot, Nodirbek Abdusattorov.

Praggnanandhaa - Keymer: 0-1
