WGM Srija Seshadri drew with IM Vantika Agrawal in Round 7 to maintain her lead at Asian Individual Women 2025. WCM Bat-Erdene Mungunzul (MGL) defeated WGM Nandhidhaa P V to join the lead with Srija. Botha are now at 6/7 each. They will inevitably clash against each other in the penultimate round. WGM Swati Ghate continues her good form. She drew with IM Pham Le Thao Nguyen (VIE) to move to 5/7. In the Men's event, GM Bardiya Daneshvar (IRI) drew with GM Ivan Zemlyanskii to mantain his sole lead 6/7. GM Shamsiddin Vokhidov (UZB) and Ivan are at 5.5/7 each. GM Anna Muzychuk (UKR) drew with IM Nurgyul Salimova (BUL) in Round 7 of FIDE Grosslobming GP in Austria. It created an opportunity for GM Jiner Zhu (CHN) to catch up with her. Jiner defeated GM Nana Dzagnidze (GEO) who made a tactical error in a queen, rook and double knight endgame. Both Anna and Jiner are coleaders now with a score of 5/7 each. D Gukesh suffered his second loss at Grand Chess Tour Superbet Chess Classic 2025 in Round 6. After deciding not to castle, the World Champion's king got into a precarious position. In the rook vs bishop endgame, Gukesh made an irrevocable mistake. His opponent, Alireza Firouja (FRA) had no trouble seizing the opportunity. He has now joined the lead with Fabiano Caruana (USA), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (FRA) and R Praggnanandhaa at 3.5/6 each. WCM Aaradhya Das scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win AICF Smart Girls Rating 2025 Tripura. She finished a half point ahead of the rest. Ankita Sarkar scored 8/9 to secure second place. She also remained undefeated. Sumedha Roy scored sole 7/9 to finish third. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹25000. The top three prizes were ₹5000, ₹3500 and ₹2000 each respectively. Smart Girls rating tournament is just like Chess for Everyone Rating tournament but only for female players, where the entry fee is low. GM Evgeny Romanov (MKD) won 22nd BCC Open 2025 scoring an unbeaten 7/9. IM Paulo Bersamina (PHI) scored 7.5/9 to secure second place. He also remained undefeated. Five players - GM Lalit Rohit, GM Surya Sekhar Ganguly, IM Michael Concio Jr. (PHI), FM Ern Jie Anderson Ang (MAS) and GM Nigel Short (ENG) scored 7/9 each. They were placed third to seventh according to tie-breaks. The first prize in the Open group is THB 100000. Anish Gandhi scored an unbeaten 10/11 to win Khasdar Chashak Rapid Rating Open 2025. He finished a full point ahead of the rest. Seven players - Aditya Savalkar, IM Sameer Kathmale, IM Rahul Sangma, Shriraj Bhosale, Rushikesh Kabnurakar, FM Chinmay Kulkarni and Apurv Shekhar Deshmukh scored 9/11 each. They secured second to eighth place respectively The total prize fund was ₹100000. The top three prizes were ₹20000, ₹10000 and ₹7000 along with a trophy each. WGM Srija Seshadri defeated IM Anastasia Bodnaruk in Round 6 to emerge sole leader at Asian Individual Women 2025. Srija made a thematic bishop sacrifice on e6 to get three pawns and a vulnerable king. However, the World Rapid Women 2023 champion, IM Anastasia Bodnaruk got back in the game and kept fighting until she blundered her rook in the final moments. Srija is at 5.5/6. She is closely followed by WCM Bat-Erdene Mungunzul (MGL), IM Vantika Agrawal and WGM Nandhidhaa P V at 5/6 each. Tornike and Pranav secured second and third place respectively. Both Levan and Tornike remained undefeated. The total cash prize fund was ₹400000. GM Karthikeyan Murali defeated GM Aleksey Grebnev to maintain his lead at Asian Individual Men 2025. Grebnev went wrong in the middlegame when he lost a pawn and control of the position. GM Bardiya Daneshvar (IRI) won against GM Iniyan Pa who erred early in the game. Bardiya and Karthikeyan are the coleaders 4.5/5. They will inevitably clash in the sixth round. GM Pranesh M won comfortably against FM Imangali Akhilbay (KAZ) to move to 4/5. In the Women's event, IM Anastasia Bodnaruk was held to a draw by WCM Bat-Erdene Mungunzul (MGL). However, not all of them could have had the same outcome. The World Champion, D Gukesh sacrificed his knight in a queen, bishop and knight endgame. Jan-Krzysztof Duda (POL) missed his opportunity to prevent the perpetual check and the game ended in a draw. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (FRA) sacrificed an exchange in the final moments.
