Novy Bor Chess Club clinches ECCC for the third time, Alkaloid second and Vados Chess Club third

Novy Bor Chess Club defeated Superchess 2.5-3.5 to become the winner of 39th European Chess Club Cup 2024. GM David Anton Guijarro scored the decisive victory for the winners over GM Jorden van Foreest, as the remaining five games ended in draws. This is Novy Bor's third ECCC triumph. Previously they won it in 2013 and 2022. Vidit Gujrathi scored 4/6 and Pentala Harikrishna 3.5/6. Both remained undefeated. Vidit is now World no.14 with a live rating 2739.2. C'Chartres Echecs lost to Alkaloid 1-5. Alkaloid secured second place 12/14, a full point behind the champion. Arjun Erigaisi scored 5.5/7, Aravindh Chithambaram 4.5/6 and S L Narayanan 4/6.
