Madhavansh Mittal wins Chess for Everyone Rating Open 2023 in Jammu

Madhavansh Mittal and Arvindu scored 7.5/9 each at win Chess for Everyone All India Rating Open 2023 in Jammu. 13-year-old Madhavansh won the tournament due to better tie-breaks, Arvindu was placed second. Deepak Batra edged passed seven more players to secure third place finish scoring 7/9. The top three prizes were ₹5000 + trophy, ₹3000 and ₹2000. The tournament was held from 22nd to 26th July 2023 at IDPS School in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir. It was organized by Crown Trust in collaboration with IDPS School Jammu. This was Madhavansh's first rating tournament triumph of his career. Madhavansh's first rating tournament triumph

Madhavansh Mittal and Saransh Dabas - two teenagers were in the lead 7/8 each, heading into the final round. Madhavansh drew against Deepak Batra and Saransh lost to Arvindu. Thus, Madhavansh won the tournament 7.5/9, Arvindu was placed second 7.5/9 and Deepak third 7/9.

A total of 137 players took part from various states across the country in this five-day nine round Swiss-league Rating tournament which was organized by Crown Trust in collaboration with and at IDPS School in Jammu, Jammu Kashmir from 22nd to 26th July 2023. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
