IM Praveen Kumar wins 2nd RCPA Open 2019

2nd RCPA Open FIDE Rating Tournament concluded with six players finishing at 8.0/10, however second seeded Tamil Nadu's IM Praveen Kumar C came out at the top due to a better tie-break score. Two weeks after winning Thalavaipuram Open Rating IM Ramnathan Balasubramanian of Tamil Nadu finished second. AICF Vice-President IM Sekhar Chandra Sahu secured third position. Total 172 players participated in this six-day ten round swiss league tournament. Top seed GM Raset Ziatdinov of USA scored 7.5/10 and secured tenth place. Praveen Kumar's first championship in almost two years

Second seed IM Praveen Kumar C wins 2nd RCPA Open by scoring 8.0/10 and finishing ahead of five other players who finished with the same score.

For the opening ceremony of tournament Honourable Mayor RMC Binaben Aacharya was Chief Guest; Social welfare club RMC Nitin Bhardwaj; Kishorsinh Jethwa Coordinator; RCPA Members CA Parinbhai Patel, Dr. Nimishbhai Parikh, CA Keyurbhai Parmar, CS Piyushbhai Jethwa, Manishbhai Parmar, Vipulbhai Makwana, Mitesh Borkhetariya, Himanshu Zala and Himatbhai Ajmera; Chief Arbiter IA I G Parmar; Dy. Chief Arbiter FA Pavan Rathi were present on dais.

Chief Arbiter were present on dais.

 

The tournament was organized by Rajkot Chess Players Association from 13th - 18th August 2019 at Anandnagar Community Hall in Rajkot, Gujarat. Total ₹300000 worth of prize fund was distributed among 88 prize winners.
