Can Anyone Stop Him? Iniyan Closes In On 360 One Chess Masters Title

by Devansh Singh - 17/06/2026

If there is one player to look out for at the 360 One Global Chess Festival 2026, it's Iniyan Panneerselvam. Iniyan scored another win in the 7th round and is currently leading the tournament with 1.5 points. Iniyan defeated IM Aakash Dalvi to reach 6.5/7, while 5 players are trailing on 5/7 points. In the Challengers, Viresh Sharnarthi leads with 6.5/7, while in Junior Masters, Madhvendra Pratap Sharma leads with 6.5/7. With 2 rounds to go, the Masters looks one-sided, while the other 2 groups can witness a close fight for the title. Photos: Tushar Damor/ ChessBase India

Unstopable Iniyan

Currently, it looks impossible to stop Iniyan. With 2 rounds to go and the form he is in right now, it is going to be a tough task for anyone to stop him from winning the title. In the 8th round, Iniyan will play against Harsh Suresh with black pieces, and if he wins, he will win the tournament with a round to spare.

Puzzle of the Day

Iniyan found a nice checkmate against Aakash to finish the game. Can you do it too?
