by Shahid Ahmed - 13/07/2022

France no.6 GM Maxime Lagarde scored an unbeaten 8/9 to win 20th Sautron International Open 2022. He finished a full point ahead of the competition. IM Sidhant Mohapatra and IM Dhulipalla Bala Chandra Prasad, both scored 7/9. Sidhant remained undefeated, secured second place due to better tie-breaks. Bala Chandra had to settle for the third place. While Sidhant drew with the eventual champion Lagarde in the sixth round, Bala Chandra lost his sole game of the event against him in the fifth.
