Amardeep S Bartakke shared with us the following: A group of six players—Amardeep Bartakke, Aditya Bartakke, Om Gada, Veer Shah, Rachit Gurnani, and Jeet Shah—recently traveled to France to compete in the 22e Bois-Colombes Chess Master – Open A, and the experience was truly memorable. Hosted at the Complexe Sportif Albert Smirlian, 11 Avenue Renée, 92270 Bois-Colombes, the tournament was exceptionally well organized, with a welcoming atmosphere and a beautiful venue. The local players and organizers were incredibly friendly, making us feel at home from the very first round.

The tournament brought strong competition and great performances, with Om Gada securing an impressive 4th place in the B category. jeet increased around 30 points. After the event concluded, the Bois-Colombes chess club warmly invited us for dinner at their club, where the chess continued over exciting blitz games. The evening perfectly reflected the spirit of international chess—competitive yet deeply friendly—and left us with lasting memories of French hospitality and camaraderie.

A total of 143 players including 2 GMs and 16 IMs took part from 26 countries across the world in the Open A (≥2000) category. The five-day nine round Rating tournament was organized by Cercle d'Echecs de Bois-Colombes at Albert Smirlian Sports Complex in Bois-Colombes, France from 26th to 30th December 2025. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move.
