Gukesh, Praggnanandhaa, Harikrishna, Vaishali, Vantika and Savitha join team India
Vidit Gujrathi, Arjun Erigaisi, Koneru Humpy and Harika Dronavalli were already there at 19th Asian Games 2022 for their individual event. They are now joined by GM D Gukesh, GM R Praggnanandhaa, GM Pentala Harikrishna, IM Vaishali R, IM Vantika Agrawal and WGM Savitha Shri B for their respective team events. A total of nine rounds of matches will be played in Swiss League with Standard time control in the team event. There is only one round per day from 29th September to 7th October 2023.
Team composition
GM D Gukesh, GM R Praggnanandhaa, GM Vidit Gujrathi, GM Arjun Erigaisi and GM Pentala Harikrishna are the five players representing team India in the Men's section. India is the top seed with an average rating of 2728.
The Women's team comprises - GM Koneru Humpy, GM Harika Dronavalli, IM Vaishali R, IM Vantika Agrawal and WGM Savitha Shri B. India is the second seed in the Women's section with an average rating of 2484. China is the top seed with average of 2492.
