India to face Mongolia and Philippines at 19th Asian Games 2022 today

Vidit Gujrathi got himself very close to winning a medal in the individual rapid event of 19th Asian Games 2022. However, that event need to be put behind as the team event starts today. India is the top seed in the Men's event, while India is the second seed in the Women. D Gukesh, R Praggnanandhaa, Vidit Gujrathi, Arjun Erigaisi and Pentala Harikrishna will be battling in the Men. GM Koneru Humpy, GM Harika Dronavalli, IM Vaishali R, IM Vantika Agrawal and WGM Savitha Shri B comprises the Women's team. Gukesh, Praggnanandhaa, Harikrishna, Vaishali, Vantika and Savitha join team India

Vidit Gujrathi, Arjun Erigaisi, Koneru Humpy and Harika Dronavalli were already there at 19th Asian Games 2022 for their individual event. They are now joined by GM D Gukesh, GM R Praggnanandhaa, GM Pentala Harikrishna, IM Vaishali R, IM Vantika Agrawal and WGM Savitha Shri B for their respective team events. A total of nine rounds of matches will be played in Swiss League with Standard time control in the team event. There is only one round per day from 29th September to 7th October 2023.

Team composition
