Tharun Pranav G B scored 8/9 points to win the RV Chess Academy 2nd International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament for Below 1800. 6 players scored 7.5/9 points to finish in 2nd to 7th places according to tiebreak scores. Sriman V and Pradheep B secured 2nd and 3rd places. The tournament was organised by RV Chess Academy at New Prince Shri Bhavani College of Engineering, Chennai. Last Round Victory
In the final round, Tharun was paired against Sriman. Sriman was already leading the event with half a point, and alongside him, Pradheep was also on 7.5/8. In the final round, both co-leaders lost their respective games. Tharun defeated Sriman, and Muthuraman Kesavamoorthy defeated Pradheep. It helped Tharun clinch the title.
A total of 312 players took part in this 3-day FIDE-rated classical tournament. The tournament was organised from 26th June to 28th June with the time control of 30 minutes each plus 30 seconds increment fo from move 1.
