Double Trouble for Magnus! Praggnanandhaa Defeats World No.1 Twice at Norway Chess 2026

R Praggnanandhaa defeated World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen for the second consecutive time at Norway Chess 2026. Praggnanandhaa won against Magnus in the 4th round with white pieces, and he defeated Magnus with the black pieces in the 8th round. It was an intense battle where Praggnanandhaa kept Magnus under pressure and finally under time pressure, Magnus made a crucial mistake and lost the game. Another day, another win

Last time, when Praggnanandhaa faced Magnus in the 4th round, it was a complex battle where Praggnanandhaa came out on top. This time, the position was not that complex, but under time pressure, it was tough to find accurate defensive moves, and Magnus failed to do so, blundering into a forced mate.

This was the second time this year and the third time at Norway Chess, when Pragg won against Magnus
