So far, we have explored the different sections and features available on the homepage. Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the new and improved features of the ChessBase India website!
Explore Live Chess in detail
In the Live Chess section, you can find all the ongoing live tournaments, along with the total number of rounds, the rounds completed so far, and the scheduled time for the next round.
In this image, you can see the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad. Although the event has concluded, it gives you a good idea of how you can use our website to follow live tournaments and explore games. Click on the Olympiad to open the event page.
Here, you can find the Indian players participating in the tournament. Click on any player’s name to view their player card, which displays their score, opponents and results.
You can do this for any player in the tournament, not just the Indian players shown in this example.
You can also explore the games played in different rounds. Simply click on any game to view it. The live games and data are taken from Lichess.org.
Scroll further down to find the Standings & Results section, where you can view the standings based on game points.
On the left side, you will find our latest videos from the event keeping you updated with our video coverage of the event.
There is also a horizontal bar that makes it easy to switch between the Open and Women’s sections and select any round you want to explore.
Explore Calendar in detail
The Calendar is one of the most useful features on our website, especially for chess players and tournament organisers. It first displays ongoing tournaments, along with their dates, location and format.
You can also explore upcoming tournaments, organised by month. This makes it easier to browse events, plan ahead and find tournaments that interest you!
You can also use the Filter events option to find tournaments based on your preferences. Filter events by month, location (India, abroad or online), participant category and tournament format, such as Classical, Rapid, Blitz and Bullet. This makes it easier to find the events you are interested in.
Tournament organisers can add their events in just a few minutes.
The process is simple: fill in the details across five sections: The Event, Where, Organiser, Extras, and Review and submit your listing.
Well, that brings us to the end of our tour of the new ChessBase India website! We hope the website makes it easier for you to find chess news, follow tournaments, explore games, discover upcoming events and stay connected with everything happening in the chess world.
There is plenty to explore, so go ahead and take the new website for a spin. If you have any suggestions, feature requests, or feedback about the new website, write to us at tech@chessbase.in. We would love to hear from you!
