A special highlight of the tournament was 7-year-old Chatooryya CH. It was her first tournament, and she impressively finished 3rd in the U16 category. Even the audience was drawn to this event. There were about 500 spectators throughout the day. Hyderabad is witnessing a growing number of chess players as well as chess spectators.
All participants received food and beverage coupons from LuLu Mall. The organising team, comprising Vansh, Pratik Dehury, Pavan Narendra, Jatin, Ishita, Rakshitha, and Sathwik Manthini (CEO, Communitie), ensured smooth coordination and arbitration, although parents noted that the weekend mall crowd added slight discomfort. Despite that, participants praised the team’s warmth, patience, and hospitality, making the event an enjoyable and memorable experience.
This tournament was more about community building than competition. Tribe64's mission is to strengthen the chess ecosystem in Hyderabad through regular catch-ups, quizzes, tournaments, and monthly chess donation drives. The organisers believe that:
Chess can be enjoyed by anyone, at any age, across any background or gender. Our mission is to build a strong and inclusive community of chess enthusiasts in Hyderabad.
