Zaven Andriasian dominates MRU Blitz 2025, Velavaa Ragavesh third
GM Zaven Andriasian scored an unbeaten 10/11 to win MRU Blitz Rating Open 2025. It was part of Vilnius Open 2025. He finished a whopping 1.5 points ahead of the field. Three players - FM Andrey Levitskiy (UKR), CM Velavaa Ragavesh and IM Vaidas Sakalauskas (LTU) scored 8.5/11 each. They secured second, third and fourth place respectively according to tie-breaks. Velavaa drew against the eventual winner of the tournament, Zaven in the ninth round. The total prize fund was €500. The top three prizes were €100, €70 and €50 along with a medal each. The one-day eleven round Blitz Rating Open tournament was organized by Public institution Chess World, MRU SSC and Vilnius Chess Club at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, Lithuania on 11th July 2025. A total of 61 players including a GM and two IMs took part from six countries across the world. The one-day eleven round Blitz Rating Open tournament was organized by Public institution Chess World, MRU SSC and Vilnius Chess Club at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, Lithuania on 11th July 2025. The time control of the event was 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment per move.
