Levitov Chess Week 2023 Day 2: Anand beats and displaces Aronian
Vishy Anand started his second day at Levitov Chess Week 2023 with a loss against Alexander Grischuk. He does not know why he opted for a complicated line against the three-time World Blitz champion. Then he scored 2/3 in the next three games including a crucial win against then tournament leader, Levon Aronian (USA). The knight at h5 was not doing much, moving it to f4 did not help Black's case either. 26...Nf4? 27.Qxa5 Rxa5 28.a3 Rb8? 29.c5 dxc5 30.Rxc5 Rb3 31.Rc3 Rxc3 helped White to have connected passed pawns on c and d-files 32.bxc3 and White smoothly converted his advantage into a win.
