The Launch of Pro Chess Training Academy
A new initiative by some of the most renowned trainers in the world is kicking off on the 21st of October 2020. GM R.B. Ramesh, GM Magesh Chandran and some trainers have come together to launch the pro chess training. The idea is to bring all the best chess coaches under one roof and indulge in chess training based on the rating levels of the participants. In this article GM Magesh Chandran and R.B. Ramesh tell us more about this idea. The classes will begin from the 1st of January 2021, but you can get a feel of what's in store for you.

We are happy to announce the launch of Prochesstraining, a joint venture from some of the best chess trainers in the world to provide an online platform for chess coaching. Online chess classes were not the most popular option a couple of decades ago, but as the technology grew people started embracing it more and now it is one of the most convenient methods of training for individual classes. Similarly, we believe online group classes are going through a phase change and will be the most common teaching method in the future. The current pandemic has brought this change in a faster pace to the chess community and our mission is to pick and run with it
Our goal
The one thing that all chess trainers want is for our students to work hard on all areas of the game. Spending an hour or two with a chess coach will not be enough to make real progress, we want them to plug in some real hours to make a difference. Prochesstraining will provide a solution by guiding our students to add those sheer numbers of hours through our lessons and the curated chess content. Chess coaches all over the world can use this platform as a supplement to their training and be rest assured that the students are studying/learning and engaged with great chess content.
Our service
To improve your chess, you need to work on several things at the same time. With our weekly classes and activities we plan to bring all of that requirement under one roof.
1 hour classes (3 group classes every week) – Schedule will be for US and Indian time zones mainly. 1 US evening class, 1 Indian evening class and 1 weekend class suitable for both time zones
Class video recordings will be available for 2 months for students to watch.
Seminar (1 seminar every week) – Weekends suitable for both Indian and US time zones.
Training games (1 day a week) – Players will play set training games with target training positions.
Weekly class review (1 day a week) – Work assigned to students based on the class material for that week
Blitz/casual tournaments (1 day a week) – Playing among peers is a great way to gain experience.
Our platform will have five groups divided as below: (peak rating of the player will be considered, not the current rating)
Group 1: 1000 -1400;
Group 2: 1400 – 1800;
Group 3: 1800 – 2200;
Group 4: 2200 – 2400
Each rating group will have its own set of lessons and activities. Some fantastic teachers like GM RB Ramesh, GM Surya Sekhar Ganguly, GM Magesh Panchanathan, GM Srinath, GM Vladimirov Evgeniy, GM Daniel Naroditsky, GM Vishnu Prasanna, GM Ankit Rajpara, GM Swayams Mishra, GM Karthikeyan Murali, GM Swapnil Dhopade, GM Sundararajan Kidambi, GM Shyam Sundar, WGM Padmini Rout, IM Satyapragyan, WGM Aarthie Ramaswamy, WFM Anuprita Patil are part of the training regime for these groups.
Elite group – 2400+
This group will consist of some of our strongest players and will have a maximum of 25 students. World renowned players/trainers like Kasimdzhanov, Harikrishna, Shirov, Ganguly, Ramesh and Vladimirov are confirmed as trainers for this group. We also have a great team of young and upcoming players like Praggnanandhaa, Karthikeyan Murali, Daniel Naroditsky, Raunak Sadhwani, Padmini Rout, Abhimanyu Mishra confirmed for this class.
Cost
We will provide monthly and annual subscription options. Cost for Groups 1 to 4 will range from $60 to $100 per month. Cost of our elite group will be $250 per month. Classes will start from January 1st, 2021 and registration will be open from December 1st, 2020
