India wins 49 medals at 27th Asian Youth Chess Championships 2025

India has won a total of 49 medals - 13 Gold, 19 Silver and 17 Bronze at 27th Asian Youth Chess Championships 2025. Out of them, 20 are individual medals and the remaining 29 are from Team events. CM Madhvendra Pratap Sharma won the sole Gold in Classical event in Under-12 Open. WCM Divi Bijesh, WFM Nivedita V C and FM Prishita Gupta won Gold in Rapid events in Under-10, Under-14 and Under-16 Girls category. Aaranya R is the lone Gold medalist in Blitz Under-8 Girls. She scored a perfect 9/9. Madhvendra, Tamizh Amudhan S, Divi Bijesh, Pratitee Bordoloi and Nivedita V C are double individual medal winners in multiple formats. India claims 13 Gold, 19 Silver and 17 Bronze

CM Madhvendra Pratap Sharma is the only Indian to have an individual Gold in the Classical event. WCM Divi Bijesh, WFM Nivedita V C and FM Prishita Gupta won Gold in Rapid in the following categories - Under-10 Girls, Under-14 Girls and Under-16 Girls. Aaranya R is the sole medal winner in the Blitz event. She scored a perfect 9/9 in Under-8 Girls. IM Ethan Vaz is the only player to have won a Bronze medal in Under-16 Open in all three formats - Classical, Rapid and Blitz. Total number of Indian players participation across various events is 68. There were four Indian coaches - GM FT Akash Ganesan, WFM FI IA J E Kavitha, Madhuri N and Gagan Chitkara.

Under-8 Open: Silver and Team Silver

Kiasha Mahboobi (IRI, 1869), Tamizh Amudhan S (1714), Mahdiar Janbarari (IRI, 1721) and Marius Constante (PHI, 1681) scored 7/9 each in Under-8 Open Classical event. Kiasha, Tamizh and Mahdiar won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively according to tie-breaks.
