Sarbartho Mani, Divi Bijesh and Pratitee Bordoloi clinch Gold at FIDE World Cup Cadets 2025

Sarbartho Mani, WCM Divi Bijesh and WCM Pratitee Bordoloi have clinched Gold in Under-10 Open, Under-10 Girls and Under-12 Girls events at FIDE World Cup Cadet 2025. Sarbartho drew both of his Classical games against compatriot Oishik Mondal. Then he won both Rapid tie-break games to win the Gold. Oishik secured Silver medal. CM Aarit Kapil won both of his games against Iman Nabiyev (KAZ) to win Bronze. In Under-10 Girls, Divi scored full points against WCM Zhihan Chen (CHN) to earn Gold. WCM Sharvaanica A S defeated Nadezhda Vlad Volkova twice to claim Bronze. WCM Pratitee Bordoloi won both of her Classical games against compatriot Aadya Gowda to win Gold. India clinch seven medals: Three Gold, Two Silver and Two Bronze

Indian kids were guaranteed five medals and eligible for a total of eight, heading into Stage 2. Out of eight, the kids won seven - Three Gold, Two Silver and Two Bronze each. Fun fact: The fight for the Gold medal in Under-10 Open and Under-12 Girls were between the statemates of West Bengal and Karnataka respectively. Thus, the Gold and Silver for those two events were confirmed for those two states and India as well. The top three prizes were - Macbook Air 2024/25, iPhone and iPad 2024/25 models along with a medal, cup and diploma each. That's not all, the podium finishers of each category get full board accommodation for the World Cadets Championship in the same year.

Under-10 Open: Gold, Silver and Bronze

Sarbartho Mani (1847) drew both Classical games against Oishik Mondal (1857) in Stage 2. Then he won the next two Rapid games of 15'+2" each to clinch the Gold. Oishik had to settle for Silver. CM Aarit Kapil (2078) defeated Iman Nabiyev (KAZ, 1716) twice to win the Bronze medal.

Under-10 Girls: Gold and Bronze

WCM Divi Bijesh (1872) defeated WCM Zhihan Chen (CHN, 1785) in both Classical games to clinch the Gold. Similarly, WCM Sharvaanica A S (1884) also won both of her games against Nadezhda Vlad Volkova (1685) to clinch Bronze.

Under-12 Girls: Gold and Silver

WCM Pratitee Bordoloi (1971) won both of her games against Aadya Gowda (1703) to clinch the Gold in Under-12 Girls. Aadya secured Silver medal.
