GM Evgeny Romanov (MKD) won 22nd BCC Open 2025 scoring an unbeaten 7/9. IM Paulo Bersamina (PHI) scored 7.5/9 to secure second place. He also remained undefeated. Five players - GM Lalit Rohit, GM Surya Sekhar Ganguly, IM Michael Concio Jr. (PHI), FM Ern Jie Anderson Ang (MAS) and GM Nigel Short (ENG) scored 7/9 each. They were placed third to seventh according to tie-breaks. The first prize in the Open group is THB 100000. Anish Gandhi scored an unbeaten 10/11 to win Khasdar Chashak Rapid Rating Open 2025. He finished a full point ahead of the rest. Seven players - Aditya Savalkar, IM Sameer Kathmale, IM Rahul Sangma, Shriraj Bhosale, Rushikesh Kabnurakar, FM Chinmay Kulkarni and Apurv Shekhar Deshmukh scored 9/11 each. They secured second to eighth place respectively The total prize fund was ₹100000. The top three prizes were ₹20000, ₹10000 and ₹7000 along with a trophy each. The two-day eleven round Rapid rating tournament was organized by Progressive Chess Association, Sangli at 7 Avenue Family Mart in Sangli, Maharashtra on 18th and 19th April 2025. Asian Individual 2025 R6: Srija Seshadri outwits Anastasia Bodnaruk, gains sole lead

WGM Srija Seshadri defeated IM Anastasia Bodnaruk in Round 6 to emerge sole leader at Asian Individual Women 2025. Srija made a thematic bishop sacrifice on e6 to get three pawns and a vulnerable king. However, the World Rapid Women 2023 champion, IM Anastasia Bodnaruk got back in the game and kept fighting until she blundered her rook in the final moments. Srija is at 5.5/6. She is closely followed by WCM Bat-Erdene Mungunzul (MGL), IM Vantika Agrawal and WGM Nandhidhaa P V at 5/6 each. Levan Pantsulaia wins 2nd Namma Bengaluru Blitz Rating Open 2025, Pranav Anand third

GM Levan Pantsulaia (GEO), GM Tornike Sanikidze (GEO) and GM Pranav Anand scored 9.5/11 at 2nd Namma Bengaluru Blitz Rating Open 2025. Levan won the tournament due to better tie-break score. Tornike and Pranav secured second and third place respectively. Both Levan and Tornike remained undefeated. The total cash prize fund was ₹400000. The top three prizes were ₹50000, ₹40000 and ₹30000 along with a trophy each. IM Aronyak Ghosh, IM Viani Antonio Dcunha, IM Anuj Shrivatri and IM Goutham Krishna H scored 9/11 each. GM Karthikeyan Murali defeated GM Aleksey Grebnev to maintain his lead at Asian Individual Men 2025. Grebnev went wrong in the middlegame when he lost a pawn and control of the position. GM Bardiya Daneshvar (IRI) won against GM Iniyan Pa who erred early in the game. Bardiya and Karthikeyan are the coleaders 4.5/5. They will inevitably clash in the sixth round. GM Pranesh M won comfortably against FM Imangali Akhilbay (KAZ) to move to 4/5. In the Women's event, IM Anastasia Bodnaruk was held to a draw by WCM Bat-Erdene Mungunzul (MGL). It allowed WGM Srija Seshadri to get back in the lead as she defeated WGM Xeniya Balabayeva (KAZ). Srija, Bodnaruk and Mungunzul are at 4.5/5 each. GM Anna Muzychuk (UKR) drew with GM Nana Dzagnidze (GEO) in Round 6 of FIDE Grosslobming GP in Austria. Anna is still in sole lead 4.5/6. GM R Vaishali and GM Jiner Zhu (CHN) scored a win each against IM Olga Badelka (AUT) and GM Mariya Muzychuk (UKR) respectively. Both Vaishali and Jiner have reduced the gap with the sole leader. They are now at 4/6 each, followed by GM Zhongyi Tan (CHN) and Dzagnidze at 3.5/6 each. Zhongyi and GM Alexandra Kosteniuk (SUI) are the remaining two victors of the round. Superbet Classic R5: Gukesh's Knight Sac almost gone wrong against Duda

For the first time at Grand Chess Tour Superbet Chess Classic 2025, all five games ended in draws. However, not all of them could have had the same outcome. The World Champion, D Gukesh sacrificed his knight in a queen, bishop and knight endgame. Jan-Krzysztof Duda (POL) missed his opportunity to prevent the perpetual check and the game ended in a draw. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (FRA) sacrificed an exchange in the final moments. GM Shamsiddin Vokhidov (UZB) had a well contested draw against GM Bardiya Daneshvar (IRI) in Round 4 of Asian Individual Men 2025. GM Nihal Sarin could have pushed for a win against GM Pranav Anand. However, the game ended in a draw via repetition. After losing against Anna in the second round, GM Jiner Zhu (CHN) made a strong comeback by scoring a hat-trick with a victory over GM R Vaishali. WGM Priyanka Nutakki had a great opportunity to win against GM Valentina Gunina. However, she missed it and eventually lost the game. IM Vantika Agrawal escaped with a draw against WCM Khisigbaatar Bayasgalan (MGL) who missed all of her winning chances.
