Magnus Carlsen, Arjun Erigaisi, Nodirbek Abdusattorov will be seen in action at 31st TePe Sigeman & Co 2026

One of the strongest Classical Chess Tournaments of 2026 is starting today. The 31st edition of TePe Sigeman & Co 2026 kicks off today, and as always, the playing field is a great mix of young talents and the strongest contenders. Former World Champion and current World No.1 Magnus Carlsen will be seen in action with Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Arjun Erigaisi, Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus, Zhu Jiner, Jorden van Foreest, Andy Woodward, and Nils Grandelius. All the players taking part in this year's tournament are in red-hot form, and it is going to be a fun-filled tournament to watch. The TePe Sigeman Chess Tournament has been held annually since 1993, except 3 years in between. One of the strongest fields

The TePe Sigeman 2026 is going to be a wild tournament as the 5-times Classical World Champion and World No.1 is taking part in the event. The winner of the 2024 Tepe Sigemen, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, who is in great shape and already leading the 2026-27 FIDE circuit, will be playing here too. Women's World No.4 Zhu Jiner, the youngest ever to reach 2700, Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus, 2024 runner-up Arjun Erigaisi, 2021 winner Jorden van Foreest, Star of US Chess Andy Woodward, and Local star and Sweden's No.1 Nils Grandelius will be seen in action.

Time control

90 minutes for 40 moves and then 30 minutes for the remaining moves with 30 seconds cumulative increment for each move starting from the first move (Malmö rules-no draws before move 40).
