Bharath Subramaniyam H Wins the Granada Open 2026
GM Bharath Subramaniyam H scored an unbeaten 7.5/9 to win the Granada Chess Open 2026. In the final round, Bharath drew against GM Yuri Solodovnichenko of Ukraine, and both players finished on 7.5/9, but a better tiebreak score helped Bharath clinch the title. The tournament was organised at Hotel Porcel Alixares, Granada, Spain, from 28th July to 2nd August. Going into the final round, GM Bharath Subramaniyam and GM Yuri Solodovnichenko were co-leading with 7/8 points. 6 players were trailing with 6.5/8 points, but all these games ended in a draw, which helped Bharath win the championship with a better tiebreak score.
