The Asian Continental is one of the most important events of the calendar year. It gives an opportunity to our players to qualify for the next World Cup. Five players from the open section and the winner of the women's section will qualify for World Cup 2017. While India number two Harikrishna fights it out in Shamkir, just about everyone else is here in Tashkent. We have Adhiban, Vidit, Ganguly, Sethuraman, Abhijeet, Lalith and others. In the women's section Padmini, Soumya, Pratyusha and Vaishali are amongst the top seeds. We have setup a live games page for you to enjoy the live games of these top Indian players.
The Asian Continental 2016 is being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from the 26th of May to the 3rd of June 2016.
Five players from the Open section of the Asian Continental will qualify for World Cup 2017. Five strong Indian players are amongst the top ten seeds: They are B.Adhiban, Vidit Gujrathi, Surya Shekhar Ganguly, Abhijeet Gupta and S.P. Sethuraman.
In the women's section only the winner will qualify for the 128 player Knockout World Championship. We have Padmini Rout, Soumya Swaminathan, Mary Ann Gomes, Bhakti Kulkarni, Pratyusha Bodda R. Vaishali with a realistic chance of winning the title.
