The Asian Continental 2016 is being held in Chengdu, China from the 12th of May 2017.
Five players from the Open section of the Asian Continental will qualify for World Cup 2017. Five strong Indian players are amongst the top ten seeds: They are B.Adhiban, Vidit Gujrathi, Surya Shekhar Ganguly, and S.P. Sethuraman.
In the women's section only the winner will qualify for the 128 player Knockout World Championship. We have Padmini Rout, Soumya Swaminathan, Mary Ann Gomes, Bhakti Kulkarni, Pratyusha Bodda R. Vaishali with a realistic chance of winning the title.
