Priyanshu's first-ever rating tournament triumph

Indrajeet Mahindrakar had a sole lead 7.5/8 heading into the final round. Anshul Nanwani and Priyanshu Patil were in pursuit at 7/8 each. Anshul defeated Indrajeet and Vikrant Chole lost to Priyanshu. Thus, Priyanshu became champion according to tie-breaks, Anshul second and Indrajeet third.

Second Runner-up - Indrajeet Mahindrakar 7.5/9

Priyanshu Patil scored 8/9 and increased his Elo rating by 19.6 points

A total of 135 players took part from various states across the country in this two-day nine-round Swiss League Rapid Rating Open tournament. The event was organized by Gondia District Chess Association at Bhavbhuti Rang Mandir in Gondia, Maharashtra on 8th and 9th July 2023. The time control of the event was 20 minutes + 10 seconds increment from move no.1.
