Bristy Mukherjee and Diya Chowdhury clinch three medals at Asian Amateur 2025

India has won a total of three medals at Asian Amateur Chess Championships 2025. WFM Bristy Mukherjee won the sole Gold medal in Rapid Women event. She scored a perfect 9/9, won the tournament with a round to spare and finished 1.5 points ahead of the rest. She also won a Bronze medal in the Classical Under-2300 Women scoring 5.5/9. Diya Chowdhury earned a Bronze in Under-2000 Women Classical. She scored 6/9. The total prize fund of the tournament was HKD 215700. The top three prizes in Under-2000 and Under-2300 Women were HKD 8000, 6500 and 5000 along with a trophy and medal each. For Rapid Women, the top three prizes were HKD 2000, 1000 and 500 each.

It is one of the rare occasion where all medals were won by women. The reigning National Amateur Under-2300 Women 2025 champion, WFM Bristy Mukherjee won Gold in Women Rapid and Under-2300 Women Classical, Diya Chowdhury got Bronze in Women Classical event.

Classical: U2000 Women - Bronze

Enkhsaikhan Odmaa (MGL, 1853) and WFM Allanney Jia Doroy (PHI, 1938) scored 7/9 each in Under-2000 Women category in Classical format. Enkhsaikhan won Gold as she defeated Allanmey in the seventh round. Allanmey had to settle for Silver. Diya Chowdhury (1917) scored 6/9 to earn Bronze. She suffered two losses and they were against the eventual Gold and Silver medalists.

U2300 Women - Bronze

WCM Kristina Kim .(KAZ, 2013) scored 6.5/9 to clinch Gold in Under-2300 Women Classical. WFM Xinyu Li (CHN, 2142) secured Silver scoring 6/9. WFM Bristy Mukherjee (2031) got Bronze with a score of 5.5/9. Bristy lost to the eventual Gold medalist, Kristina in Round 2 and defeated the Silver medal winner, Xinyu in Round 6.
