14-year-old Aadik Lenin scores his 2nd IM norm in Hungary
Aadik Theopane Lenin scores his 2nd IM norm. The 14-year-old youngster from Tamil Nadu went to Hungary to play in the Budapest One week August A GM norm Round Robin. He won 2 games and drew 7 out of 9 and with 5.5/9 scored his 2nd IM norm.

Aadik scored 2 wins against FM Rithvik Krishnan (2369) and IM Antoine Bournel (2411).

Aadik played amazing chess in two tournaments in India - Gujarat GM in Ahmedabad and KIIT GM in Bhubaneshwar and gained 264 Elo points. After this, Subha Rakesh, a chess promoter in Kerala, organized a fundraiser for Aadik where they raised close to Rs.4 lakh through different sources to fund Aadik's Europe trip. This 2nd norm is a result of this support.

Speaking to ChessBase India, Aadik's father said "I have no words to express my gratitude. Aadik has secured his 2nd IM Norm in the Budapest GM Round Robin Tournament. Thank you so much for the kind support, encouragement, and blessings of so many people. It means a lot to us."
Aadik is now 2392 on the FIDE live rating list. We wish him the best for his final IM norm and hitting 2400 to become India's latest IM!
