23वे सिगेमन इंटरनेशनल में विश्व भर से एकमात्र महिला खिलाड़ी के तौर पर चयनित हुई भारत की शीर्ष महिला ग्रांड मास्टर महिला द्रोणावली नें पहले दोनों मैच काले मोहरो से ड्रॉ खेलते हुए शानदार शुरुआत की है । हरिका नें पहले राउंड में अपने से 220 अंक अधिक के खिलाड़ी टॉप सीड विश्व नंबर 15 उक्रेन के पावेल एलजनोव (2751) को ड्रॉ पर रोका तो दूसरे राउंड में  खुद से 134 अधिक रेटिंग वाले निल्स को भी ड्रॉ खेलने पर मजबूर कर दिया । आज उनका मुक़ाबला स्वीडन चैम्पियन एरिक से होगा । हरिका के लिए यह बेहद शानदार अनुभव लेने वाला टूर्नामेंट साबित होगा यह तो तय है पर देखना यह भी होगा की क्या हरिका पुनः अपनी सर्वश्रेष्ठ विश्व रैंकिंग की ओर बढ़ेंगी । हर भारत वासी की ओर से शुभकामनाए !!

स्वीडन में 6 ग्रांड मास्टर के बीच होने वाले इस मैच में हरिका का भाग लेना ही एक बड़ी उपलब्धि की तरह देखा जा रहा है । हालांकि यह उनके लिए किसी चुनौती से कम नहीं होगा हरिका द्रोणावली (2539) इस स्पर्धा में सबसे कम रेटिंग वाली खिलाड़ी हैं इसी वजह से उन्हे छठी वरीयता मिली है । पर यह उनके लिए अपनी रेटिंग बढ़ाने का एक शानदार अवसर है जिसका उन्होने पहले राउंड में भी फ़ायदा उठा लिया है । प्रतियोगिता में पाँच पुरुष खिलाड़ी खेल रहे है  जिसमें विश्व नंबर 15 उक्रेन के पावेल एलजनोव (2751),जॉर्जिया के जोबावा बादुर (2701),इंग्लैंड के नाइजल शॉर्ट(2683) स्वीडन के निल्स ग्रंडेलिउस (2636) और एरिक ब्लोमक्वीस्ट (2554) प्रतिभागी होंगे । आपको बता दे यह इस प्रतिष्ठित प्रतियोगिता का 23वां संस्करण है इससे पहले कई विश्व चैम्पियन भी इसका हिस्सा रह चुके है । प्रतियोगिता 10 से 14 मई के बीच खेली जा रही है

जैसे इस मैच में सब कुछ पावेल के खिलाफ गया ओपनिंग में उनका गलत चुनाव ,फिर समय से पिछड़ जाना उसके बाद ऊंट  के अद्ल बदली के गलत निर्णय ,एक बार भी मैच में वह लय में नजर नहीं आए और फिर एरिक नें मेजबान स्वीडन को खुश करने में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ी और किसी भी स्वीडिश खिलाड़ी की यह सबसे बड़ी जीत बन गयी ।

हरिका नें काले मोहरो से लगातार दूसरा ड्रॉ खेला और शानदार शुरुआत की 

पहले राउंड में पावेल को ड्रॉ पर रोकने वाली हरिका नें आज भी  खेल मे अधिकतर समय बढ़त बनाकर रखी थी पर वो जीतने के लायक दबाव नहीं ढूंढ संपायी और कई मौके सही तरीके से नहीं भुना सकी मैच ड्रॉ रहा पर हरिका की रेटिंग के लिहाज से यह एक अच्छा परिणाम था । खैर आपको हरिका के साहस की तारीफ करनी होगी जो उन्होने इतने कठिन टूर्नामेंट में भाग लेना स्वीकार किया और यही अनुभव उन्हे भविष्य में काम आएगा
